Benefits and Discounts
Persons with Disabilities (PWDs living in Mandaluyong City are entitled to a wide range of benefits, discounts, and privileges provided under Philippine national laws and supported by local government programs of the City of Mandaluyong. These benefits are designed to ensure equal access to essential services, promote dignity, and improve the quality of life of PWD residents.
All benefits may be availed by presenting a valid Mandaluyong PWD Identification Card, issued by the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO).Legal Basis: Republic Act 10754 amending Republic Act 7277 (Magna Carta for Persons with Disability)
Ang mga benefits at discounts na ito ay base sa Republic Act No. 7277, as amended by RA 9442 and RA 10754, at iba pang kaugnay na batas. Maaaring mag-iba ang implementasyon ng mga benepisyo depende sa lokal na pamahalaan o institusyon. Siguraduhing magdala at ipakita ang iyong valid PWD ID upang ma-avail ang mga benepisyo.
Core Benefits & Discounts
Transportation
- 20% Discounts and VAT exemption sa mga pampublikong transportation tulad ng jeep, bus, taxi, at TNVS tulad ng Grab/Angkas tuwing gumagamit ng PWD ID.
- 50% Discount sa MRT/LRT fares para sa mga PWD's (and senior citizen)
Food and Restaurants
- 20% discount and VAT exemption sa pagkain at inumin para sa personal consumption lamang ng PWD.
Medical and Health Services
- 20% discount and VAT exemption sa medicines, medical supplies, diagnostics, doctor’s fees, at hospital services (maaaring kailangan ang reseta ng doctor kung required).
Travel and Accomodation
- 20% and VAT exemption sa domestic air at sea travel fares pati na rin sa hotels, inns, and lodging services.
Other Services
- 20% Discount sa essential funeral services para sa PWD, kabilang ang casket/urn, embalming, morgue fees, at transport papuntang burial site.
- 5% discount para sa PWDs sa basic necessities at prime commodities tulad ng bigas, karne, prutas, bottled water, laundry soap, at iba pang pangunahing bilihin.
Other Benefits and Privileges
Priority Access- EXPRESS / PRIORITY LANES in many establishments (government offices, commercial shops, hospitals, etc.) for easier access and convenience.
- PWDs may avail of Scholarships, grants, financial aid, Subsidies and support for books, school supplies, uniforms for primary, secondary, tertiary, vocational, and technical education.
- Access to Special Education (SPED) schools and programs that provide specialized instruction and support services for learners with disabilities.
- PWD’s working in the Philippines are covered by SSS/GSIS, Philhealth, and Pag-IBIG benefits like any other worker.
Reminder
- Laging magdala ng PWD ID at supporting valid ID
- Ang discounts para lamang sa may-ari ng PWD ID at hindi maaaring ipasa o ilipat sa iba.
- Itanong sa establishment upang malinaw na malaman kung ano ang exact coverage ng benepisyong kanilang ipinagkakaloob.
